From Rossnowlagh Beach, where we had just driven the van onto the sand, it was only a short hop down the coast to Bundoran, a popular seaside resort town in south Donegal. Right on the seafront sits Bundoran Adventure Park, a classic funfair with rides, go-karts and adventure golf. In this post we share how our visit went, what Bundoran amusements cost, where to park a van (watch the height barrier) and whether the park is worth a stop on a Wild Atlantic Way road trip with kids.

What Is Bundoran Adventure Park?
Bundoran Adventure Park is a family amusement park on Sea Road, right by the seafront in the middle of town. According to the official website it is owned by the Wilmot family. Expect the usual seaside funfair mix: thrill rides such as the Crazy Mouse spinning coaster and The Hulk, a big wheel with views over the bay, dodgems, rides for toddlers and younger children, go-karts, an adventure golf course and an amusement arcade. On site there are toilets, a café, snack kiosks and a small shop.
Discover Ireland lists it as one of the most popular family attractions in the north west. The park is compact, easy to walk around and sits right next to the promenade.

Our Visit: A Classic Seaside Funfair
To be honest, Bundoran Adventure Park felt like the typical small amusement parks we had already seen a few times at English seaside towns. Nothing wrong with that, just don’t expect a big theme park. Our daughter picked a ride, had her fun, and after a little over an hour we were back in the van and on the road again.
What we liked: after long days of driving, a short stop like this is a welcome change for kids. They get to burn off some energy and have something that is just for them, not another viewpoint or castle ruin.
What we didn’t like: we are simply not the biggest fans of these parks. You can argue about the rides, but all the arcade machines where you can easily gamble your money away are really not our thing. If your kids are drawn to them, keep an eye on the budget.
Is Bundoran Adventure Park Free? Prices and Ride Passes
Yes and no. Entry to the park itself is free, so you can walk in and look around before deciding anything. Every activity, however, is paid for separately: each ride, the go-karts and the adventure golf.
For longer visits the park sells ride passes. At the time of writing the official ride passes page lists an Unlimited Ride Pass for €35 (rides only), an Ultimate Ride Pass for €47 (all rides plus one go-kart session and one round of adventure golf) and a Family Ride Pass for €140 (four Unlimited Ride Passes plus four rounds of adventure golf). The passes are valid for a set afternoon time slot of about two and a half hours, and height restrictions apply on the rides. Prices and time slots can change, so check the website before you go.
For us, a single ride for our daughter was enough. With a whole family on ride passes, a short visit quickly adds up, which is why we would call it a fun but pricey way to pass the time.
Parking at Bundoran Adventure Park With a Campervan
There are several places to park around the park, but all of the ones we found were paid parking:
- The car park right next to the park has a height barrier of around 2 to 2.1 metres, so check your van’s height including anything on the roof.
- Roadside parking a little further along is suitable for campervans.
- Another car park without a height barrier sits just south of the park.
With our Ford Tourneo Custom, access was no problem. Bigger motorhomes should aim for the roadside spaces or the car park without a barrier rather than the one next to the park.
If you want to stay overnight in Bundoran, there is a paid motorhome area in town listed on park4night with electricity, water and disposal. We did not stay there ourselves, and reviews on the listing are mixed, so read them before you book.
How Long Do You Need?
We spent a little over an hour at Bundoran Adventure Park, which was plenty for one ride and a look around. If your kids are on ride passes, plan for the full afternoon time slot of around two and a half hours.
Is Bundoran Adventure Park Worth It?
It depends on who you are travelling with. For families with younger kids on a long road trip, yes: it is a quick, cheerful break that gives children a highlight of their own. For adults travelling without children, or anyone looking for Ireland’s wild coast, it is not worth a detour; Bundoran’s surf beaches and cliff walk are the better reasons to stop.
Things to Do in Bundoran With Kids Nearby
If you have more time in town, Bundoran has a few other family-friendly stops near the seafront, according to The Irish Road Trip and local tourism sites:
- Waterworld, the seafront water park with pools and slides, open seasonally.
- The Fairy Bridges and the Wishing Chair on the cliff walk, Bundoran’s first big tourist draw back in the 1800s. Keep children away from the cliff edges.
- Tullan Strand, a beach of around 2 km popular with surfers and good for a walk.
We only visited the adventure park ourselves, so these are pointers for your own planning rather than first-hand tips.
Our Honest Takeaway
Bundoran Adventure Park is a short, costly bit of fun for kids. Our daughter enjoyed her ride, and on a long road trip that is worth something. As a destination in its own right, though, it is just a typical small seaside funfair with plenty of arcade machines, and the costs add up quickly. Stop if your kids need a break; skip it if you don’t travel with children.
